Trump ran as an anti-war candidate. He promised to end the war in Ukraine on “day one,” and said that the war never would have started under his watch. Day one came and went. The war in Ukraine rages on. When pressed on his broken promise, he said he was “being a little bit sarcastic.” Trump said he was the “candidate of peace” who would avoid new foreign conflicts. But he’s delivered more bloodshed. Trump has already bombed Yemen and Iran, and conducted drone strikes in the Caribbean and Pacific. Now he’s threatening war with Venezuela and risking American boots on the ground in the Middle East. Trump told Americans he would end the killing. He lied.
